[cobirds] Denver Christmas Bird Count - recruiting volunteers!

65th DENVER CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2018

Count Leader/Compiler:  Joey Kellner vireo1 AT  comcast.net

All are encouraged to participate in the annual Denver Christmas Bird Count (CBC) sponsored the National Audubon Society.  To participate, call one of the Area Leaders listed below to assist in a particular area, or call the Count Compiler (contact info above) if you would like to help in an area that still needs additional observers.

POTLUCK! After a day in the field, all participants are invited to attend the compilation meeting/potluck to feast, warm up, chat with other birders, and find out how the count fared. It is a lot of fun.  The compilation meeting will be at approximately 5pm.  Feel free to bring a dish or desert to share!  Again, Cheryl Teuton will coordinate the potluck, please contact her (teuton AT  earthlink.net) if you plan to bring a dish to share.  Meeting will be at Chatfield State Park Headquarters (south side of the lake near the Heronry Overlook); State Parks vehicle entry pass required.  Please carpool if possible.  Ask your Area Leader about Compiler's offer for reimbursement.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Access to the Park Headquarters meeting room will only be from the Titan Road Roxborough Road entrance on the east side of the Park.  Due to construction this year the road from the west entrance will not go through (Kingfisher Bridge will be replaced).

Fees: None!  So, no excuses!  Come have a great time and help count birds!  Beginners and experts all welcome!

The 15-mile diameter "count circle" is subdivided into 24 "count areas" each with a leader.  Please contact Joey Kellner (email above) with the area(s) you might be interested in and I can provide Area Leader contact information to you.
