Hi all -
-- I arrived at Milavec shortly after 10 AM. Me and several other birders there searched the thosands of white-cheeked geese to try to find the Pink-footed Goose. After an hour of searching, the bird was in front of the viewing platform near the parking lot. Also among the geese were Snow X Cackling hybrids, a Ross's X Cackling hybrid, and a GWF X Cackling hybrid, a two GWF Geese.
Also present were over 30 Lesser Scaups, at least two Greater Scaups, a Ring-necked Duck, a Canvasback, and the continueing Long-tailed Duck. There was also what a appears to be a hybrid Lesser Scaup. The hybrid is like a pure Lesser Scaup, but has a little tuft on its head. Because of this, I believe it to be either a Lesser Scaup x Ring-necked Duck hybrid or Lesser Scaup x Tufted Duck hybrid. The photos are not great. Here's my ebird checklist in case anyone needs to view the photos larger, the hybrid scaup is under "aythya sp" : https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S50828641
The Scaup is question is the male on the right
