There were finally a large number of arriving migrants with the clear skies at Clear Spring Ranch banding today, after a LONG quiet spell. (I would say long DRY spell, but it surely hasn't been that!)
46 Turkey Vultures were seen in 10 minutes, streaming S along the riparian corridor. Large flocks of Blue Jays and Red-winged Blackbirds were also moving.
Most unusual banded birds were a HY Marsh Wren, only my second at CSR, and a late HY Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Also lotsa Orange-crowned Warblers and White-crowned Sparrows (11 Gambell's and 1 Mountain ssp). 29 birds today.
Enjoy the nice weather!
