[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report - Barr Lake Station, 10/14/17

Mother Nature was not kind to us on this second to the last day of banding this year!  We had a lovely first run with a nice little flock of Juncos and other goodies, and then the fog rolled in.  We stayed open for another 1 1/2 hours with little activity, as the fog got thicker; the nets got wet, forcing us to close.  We headed up to the Nature Center to buy home-grown pumpkins at the Barr Lake Harvest Festival.  Half-hour later, as we headed to our cars, the sun peaked through......it was probably lovely later in the day, but we got shut out!  Here's what we caught before the weather failed us:

Brown Creeper 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 1
Song Sparrow 2
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 3
Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Slate-colored 1

We will take down the station after banding on Sunday. We are opening nets at 7 a.m. and should have birds back at the station before 7:45. We will close most days by about 11:30. School groups arrive most weekdays at about 9:30.
