[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch, Prairie Warbler, Alder Flycatcher, Least Bittern etc.

Hi all,

Dan Stringer and I found a female PRAIRIE WARBLER at the Headquarters at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area), Pueblo County today.  This was my first Prairie Warbler in CO, since 2004 (ten years ago!).  I was able to get photos, which these are my first photos of this species in Colorado.  This is only the 2nd Chico Basin Ranch Prairie Warbler, since I missed the first one, I've happy to have now seen all the species of warblers that have been found at Chico Basin Ranch.

Other highlights:

Rose Pond in Pueblo County:
LEAST BITTERN - 1 male continues to call almost all day long from the marsh toward the east end of the pond
Northern Waterthrush - 2
Cassin's Sparrow(s) - 1 or 2 singing where John Drummond found them yesterday, east and a little north of Rose Pond in Cholla Cactus
Blackpoll Warbler - 1 female (seen later by Bill Maynard, Jeannie Mitchell, and myself.
no scarlet tanager

American Redstart - 1 first year male

Banding Station, El Paso County:
