Regarding Gary Koehn's superbly photographed bird at Chico...
The streaked undertail coverts, relatively dark cheek, and black markings at edge of crown are all Townsen'ds traits or show Townsend's influence, whilst the yellowish patches near legs are those of a BT Green.
This bird is a snazzy Black-throated Green x Townsend's Warbler (see article in April Colorado Birds by Glenn Walbek, Dave Leatherman and me). How many of these are passing through the state!!!
