[cobirds] Denver City Park: Horned Grebe and Barrow's Goldeneyes

Seven birders on a Denver Field Ornithologists field trip this morning found a pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes at Denver City Park. The breeding plumage Horned Grebe reported previously by Chris Rurik was still present as were two Bonaparte's Gulls and three Franklin's Gulls. A pair of Hooded Mergansers also provided good looks.

About 20 Black-crowned Night-Herons were in the heronry while nearly the same number of Snowy Egrets stalked the edges of Ferril Lake. Patrick O'Driscoll came up with 400-450 Double-crested Cormorants on nests or building.
