[*]I've gotta stop thinking and saying that. It wasn't necessarily gone. Rather, I couldn't find it. Or maybe it was dead. Anyhow, it's funny how often we say "The bird has left," when two quite plausible alternatives are "I couldn't find it" or "It died."
Ha! I just saw at CFOBirds.org that the vireo was subsequently eBirded, by some person or persons other than Yours Truly. So...I couldn't find it, it's not dead, and it's apparently still worth looking for. --Ted Floyd, Lafayette, Boulder County, Colorado
