[cobirds] RE: CFO Field Trip Announcement--Blue Mesa Reservoir on November 23rd--addendum

Let me also add that this trip is co-sponsored by the Black Canyon Audubon Society…

Cobirders,

The CFO in conjunction with the Black Canyon Audubon Society would like to announce a special field trip opportunity to Blue Mesa Reservoir and Curecanti National Recreation Area in Western Colorado on Saturday, November 23rd.  Jason Beason with the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and Theresa Childers of the NPS will co-lead this trip.

Meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake Fork boat launch area (near dam on south side of Res).  This is on CO 92 just north of US 50—about 26 miles from Gunnison or 42 miles from Montrose.  The trip will visit various viewing spots along this 17 mile-long reservoir.  Expect Barrow’s Goldeneyes and other waterfowl including possible scoters, loons and grebes.  Last year a flock of Brown-capped and Gray-crowned Rosy Finches was also present.

Please contact Jason at jason.beason@rmbo.org if you plan on attending.  He will notify all who register if there is any change in plans due to weather, etc.

Dress warmly and bring lots of water and lunch for the trip.

Bill Kaempfer

President, CFO
