ADAMS COUNTY:
--A possible RED PHALAROPE was reported by Dowell at Barr Lake on October 21 and on October 22, Faulkner reported a RED PHALAROPE in the NW corner about 200 m from the dam.  RMBO is the closest point to where
the RED PHALAROPE was seen.  On October 23, Kibbe reported the RED PHALAROPE and a Pacific Loon at Barr Lake.  The loon was in the NE corner near the boat launch.
--A RED PHALAROPE was reported by Breitsch on puddles along Tower Road just N of 96th Ave on October 23.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--An ad LITTLE GULL was reported by Rutherford at Cherry Creek SP on October 20.  It was seen from the Lake Loop.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Gent at Boulder Reservoir on October 16.
--A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Floyd at Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette on October 20.
--A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Dowell in Longmont on the W side of a pond that is W of Grandview Meadows Dr and S of the baseball diamond of Silver Creek High School.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY:
--White-throated Sparrows were reported by Klaver at Georgetown Lake which is E of Georgetown on October 23.

DENVER COUNTY:
--A juv Surf Scoter was reported by Roller at Rocky Mountain Lake Park near I-70 & Federal on October 18.  From the intersection of I-70 and Federal drive south on Federal, turn rt (west) at W. 46th Ave.  Drive west and turn rt into parking lot.  Scope is useful.  The Surf Scoter was reported by Moore, Lewis, Santangelo, and  Hess on October 19.  The Surf Scoter was reported by Hudak on October 20.  Santanglo reported that the Surf Scoter continues at Rocky Mountain Lake Park on October 23.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--On October 16, Walbek reported a juv POMARINE JAEGER and RED PHALAROPE at Chatfield SP.  The POMARINE JAEGER was reported by Bunker, Walbek, and Dowell at Chatfield SP on October 17.  The POMARINE JAEGER was reported by Dunning at Chatfield SP on October 18.  The POMARINE JAEGER was reported by Hess and Hudak on October 19.  The POMARINE JAEGER was reported by Stachowiak, Deininger, and Klaver on October 20.  On October 23, Chavez reported the POMARINE JAEGER at Chatfield SP.
--On October 20, Mlodinow reported a juv MEW GULL on the Marina Sandspit, and juv Sabine's Gull and juv Thayer's Gull  over the reservoir.
--On October 19, Henwood reported a Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield SP.
--On October 21, Goff reported POMARINE JAEGER, Thayer's Gull, and Sabine's Gull at Chatfield SP.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--A second year YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was found by Lafreniere on October 5 at a small marsh/pond on Birdsall Road and refound by Hinds on October 6.  Directions:  Take I-25 to Exit 122 (Chico Basin Exit), then head north on Old Pueblo Road about 3 miles to Birdsall Road.  Stay on Old Pueblo Road, do not turn and head towards Chico Basin.  Birdsall dead ends at a Private Ranch.  The pond is on the north side of the road and right next to the road.  The pond is on private property but can be viewed from the road.  On October 19, the YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was reported by Edwards and Percival.

EL PASO/PUEBLO COUNTIES:  At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area):
--A juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Percival around the Banding Station on October 19.
--A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Percival at upper Twin Pond on October 19.
--2 Swamp Sparrows and a Red Fox Sparrow were reported by Drummond at the wet ditch by the banding station at Chico Basin on October 19. 

HUERFANO COUNTY:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Neldner at Lathrop SP at the Children's Fishing Pond on October 16.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--A juv Surf Scoter was reported by Santangelo at Prospect Lake on October 19.  The Surf Scoter was reported by Deininger and Hudak on October 20.  

KIOWA COUNTY:
--A RED PHALAROPE was reported by Duane Nelson at Adobe Creek Reservoir on October 17.  It was in the SE corner directly north of the 2 boat ramps.  Drive north to the lake, and east to the small spit of land jutting into the lake.  An American Golden-Plover was on the shoreline just beyond the chanel separating the north and south (dry) halves of the lake.

LA PLATA COUNTY:
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Barb Byron at Pastorius Reservoir on October 18.  The Surf Scoter was seen again on October 22 as reported by Byron.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--At Timnath Reservoir on October 16, Leatherman reported 6 imm Surf Scoters and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1ad, 1 2nd or 3rd year).  On October 19, Walters reported 5 Surf Scoters at Timnath Reservoir.  On October 22, Hopper reported 3 Surf Scoters and 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Walters in the NW arm of Lake Loveland just off of the swim beach on October 20.
--A Red Fox Sparrow was reported by Biggerstaff at Dixon Reservoir on October 21.
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Hopper at Douglas Lake on October 22.  It was at the far north end.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
--A  White-throated Sparrow was reported by Dexter in Nucla on October 21.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Percival at Pueblo Reservoir on the Sailboard Road on October 15.  The Pacific Loon was reported by Percival and Mlodinow at the Sailboard Launch Area on October 20.
--At Rock Canyon below Pueblo Reservoir dam on October 17, Percival reported 3 White-throated Sparrows and a Black Phoebe.  Percival reported 1 imm White-throated Sparrow in Rock Canyon on October 20.
--A Red Fox Sparrow was reported by Silverman in Colorado City on October 20.
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Percival near Valco Ponds Parking Lot on October 20.
--On October 21, Percival reported 5 Surf Scoters and the ad LAUGHING GULL at the SWA on the NW side of Pueblo Reservoir.

TELLER COUNTY:
--A female American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Jeff Jones at Horsethief Falls on October 20.

DFO Field Trips:
The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 26, will be to Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR led by David Rhoades (303-424-8633).  Space is limited.  Please register by phone since space on the bus is limited.  Meet the leader at 0800 and bird until 1300.  Late migrants and waterfowl are expected.  Lunch is optional.

The DFO Field Trip for  Sunday, October 27, will be to the Longmont Area led by Nancy Wesorick (970-532-2194).  Meet the leader at 0800 at Jim Hamm Natural Area parking lot.  From I-25 take Exit 240.  Go west 4 miles on CO 119 to Boulder/Weld County Line Road, then approximately 2 miles north to park on the left at E 17th Ave.  Bird until 1 or 2 pm ,  Walk will be held to less than two miles, and we will drive from site to site.  Contact leader to register.
