Four birders from Northern Colorado and myself, were able to see the juvenile Little Gull, juvenile Sabine's Gull, and first year Lesser Black-backed Gull off West Fishing Road. The is getting windy, so it took a while to pick out the Little Gull on the water, it was easier to see when it was flying. Some Horned Larks flew by, and there was a rattling Lapland Longspur with them, my first of the fall from down here.
At Sailboard Road, the Pacific Loon was there, as well as three Common Terns, my first Horned Grebe of the fall, an adult Herring Gull as well (I've seen a few since the weekend).
Tomorrow could be the last chance to see the Little Gull, since it suppose to be very windy on Thursday, when the cold front comes through. The bird might not stick around until the weekend, though hopefully it will. I'm happy so many birders have been able to see this rarity so far, thanks again to Rich Miller for finding it, last Friday afternoon. The bird has been around from five days now, and has been enjoyed by many birders!
