[cobirds] Cranes and Wet Mountains 10/1-3

I saw a small flock of six Sandhill Cranes this past Tuesday (1 October), flying over Wetmore, in Custer County.  Up at 9,050 feet in elevation in the Wet Mountains, in Custer County, yesterday (2 October), I saw three Blue Jays coming to a feeder (rare at this elevation).  Always a highlight was an adult Northern Saw-whet Owl this morning (3 October), in the dark, along Hwy 165 in Custer County, just south of where Ditch Creek Road turns off.  Some other things around 9,050 feet in elevation in the Wet Mountains, Custer County this week, were a Spotted Towhee, Lincoln's Sparrow, Pine Grosbeak, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Townsend's Solitaire, among others.  I ended with 60 species of birds on this private property in the Wet Mountains this summer and fall.
