On Friday, my wife and I made a trip to Bent's Old Fort near La Junta.
We decided at the last minute to try for the Plovers at Adobe Creek Reservoir.
We got the Piping Plover, but no other birds.
Only looked the eastside of the reservoir.
Did see a beautiful Red-headed Woodpecker as we drove east on highway 194.
Long trip for one new life bird, the plover.
