[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Report, 9/13/22

Today was our busiest day so far this season - we banded 65 new birds, caught 2 more House Wrens that we had banded last year, and then caught 18 birds that were previously banded this season.

Wilson's Warblers dominated, as they should for most of September, but we had our first Yellow-rumped Warblers today, almost all young and all Audubon's.  (I thought it was early, but we seem to catch a few starting about now. Nine the first day is a lot.)

Here's the breakdown of today's 67 birds caught for the first time this year:

Western Wood-pewee 1
Cassin's Vireo 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
House Wren 2 new, 2 banded 2021
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 9 (FOS)
Townsend's Warbler 3
Common Yellowthroat 3
Wilson's Warbler 30
Chipping Sparrow 4
Clay-colored Sparrow 6
Song Sparrow 1
American Goldfinch 1
