[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station-9/21/22

A cooler and breezy day appeared to have brought in some wintering birds (juncos) into the area. A surprise catch of the day was an immature (hatching-year) Sharp-shinned Hawk that was alerted to us by a birder. (Thank you!) Otherwise, they often because of their size can flap their wings and get out of the net before we get to them. A few more recaptures today. The Hermit Thrush which I imagine some stay around for most or all of winter is just hanging out enjoying the Ranch life. It is gaining weight each day we have captured it.

The Banding Station will be open tomorrow through Saturday this week in the mornings weather permitting. Have a good day!
