[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station-9/3/22

After last night's storm, I was curious to see what bird species would be present today during banding. The banded birds appeared to have moved on. Eleven bird species were captured. We did hear a Bullock's Oriole today which most of the orioles should be farther south as they are an early fall migrant. Surprisingly, Blue Grosbeaks have graced us with their presence the past two days. They are also and early fall migrant.

36 New Birds
Wilson's Warbler - 18
Yellow Warbler -3
MacGillivray's Warbler -2
Dusky Flycatcher -2
Hammond's Flycatcher -1
Western Wood-Pewee -2
Willow Flycatcher -1
House Wren -1
Chipping Sparrow -1
Blue Grosbeak -1
Brown Thrasher -4

The banding station is closed tomorrow. The Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station is operated Monday - Saturday through September 30th. Depending on the weather, banding will conclude around 11:30 AM. Come visit the Ranch to see what is migrating through the area and stop by the banding station.
