Has to be midges that bird is after. Same timing and sustaining resource as the long-staying bird at Walden Ponds in east Boulder in 2018. Great find, Myron.

I found a Vermilion Flycatcher along the water between the Sandspit and Plum Creek Delta. First seen at (39.5411423, -105.0541053), then later refound east of there at (39.543111, -105.051724). It was mainly picking insects off the surface of the water. If you want to pursue, I suggest starting near the Sandspit then walking east along the water, watching for it along the way.
