On this day of melt and appearing gizzard shad (both live and dead, in open areas and in the ice), I visited Windsor Lake on the east side of downtown Windsor (Weld) and had the following highlights:
Bald Eagle (2 adults)
Red-breasted Merganser (several)
Thayer's Gull (1 juv.)
California Gull (1 a)
Herring Gull (dozens)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (1a, 1 3rd-cycle)
Long-tailed Duck (1 (f?)) prominent lower face oval, short tail (can't remember the gender of the bird Austin Hess found here, may be the same one)
Common Goldeneye (hundreds)
