[cobirds] Say's Phoebe, Boulder County

A slightly early Say's Phoebe was sitting in the cattails at the northwest end of Hodgson-Harris Reservoir late this morning and was still there when I left about 10 minutes ago.

For those of you who don't know where this reservoir is (probably most), it is just east of the Saddlebrook condominiums complex, which lies west of highway 36.  You can see this small reservoir if you look quickly while weaving through construction on the Boulder - Denver "turnpike".  The lake is also immediately north of Flatirons Mall.

The little flycatcher always faced west after it finished a sally out over the water.

To get there from Louisville:  Take Dillon Rd. south to 88th St.  At the stoplight, turn west on 88th and follow it over a bridge that goes over highway 36.  About 1/2 mile from the bridge,
turn left on Shamrock Dr.  You have to park outside this gated complex, but you can get in through a door to the right of the main car gate.

The lake and the adjacent area (+prairie dogs) are a parcel of Boulder County Open Space.
