"Birds of Brainard and Long Lakes"
Leave the heat of the plains when you join mountain man, David Dowell, on this high elevation search for alpine birds. The marshes and willow carrs at Brainard are perfect habitat for Fox and Lincoln's Sparrows, Wilson's and McGillivray's Warblers. The pine forests should grace us with jays, flycatchers, woodpeckers and with any luck, Red Crossbills and Dusky Grouse. Bring rain gear and lunch and be prepared to hike 3-4 miles. Limited to 10, send an email to David at: dave1wx@gmail.com (corrected address) to register. Carpool from the Justice Center lot, at the southeast corner of 6th and Canyon in Boulder.
