[cobirds] Mexican Duck (confirmations?) - Denver

During the urban Denver CBC, a small group of us visited Kennedy Golf Course (with permission of the good people who manage it). A quiet visit gained some intrigue as we worked out whether a duck we saw in the Cherry Creek is a Mexican Duck. In the field, we thought so, and we've heard from a few birders that this looks good for a Mexican Duck, but I'd love some additional thoughts. Zero experience with this species, I have.

The duck did a few somersaults in the water, which was neat, and seemed at least a little estranged from the group of Mallards he was near.
