[cobirds] Maybe possibly Fork-tailed Flycatcher near Lyons

Hi Cobirds,

I'm almost embarrassed to write this since it's so very unlikely, but I may have briefly seen a Fork-tailed Flycatcher along Hwy 66 just east of Lyons this afternoon. https://maps.app.goo.gl/V8JWWh2NyQEKhP1p8

I saw the bird for about four seconds from a distance of about 100 ft while riding in a car at highway speed. It was flying about 20 feet above the ground. Dark gray body, kind of like an Eastern Kingbird, but with extremely long black tail feathers trailing behind.

My birding companions kindly turned around and drove back to try for another look, but there's not a really good place to pull over and we could not refind it. There were a lot of magpies in the area, but I'm confident that wasn't what I saw.

Anyway, it's a long shot. Not sure what a tropical flycatcher would find to eat around here in this weather. But if you're passing by there keep an eye out.
