[cobirds] CFO Dead of Winter Knowledge Quest Returns Jan 30 - Dinosaur Ridge Raptor Count

Upcoming CFO Speaker Series Presentation: Dinosaur Ridge: Colorado's Migratory Hotspot with Emma Riley. Thursday, January 30th from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Dinosaur Ridge is an iconic segment of the Dakota Hogback geological formation west of Denver along the base of the Rocky Mountains. Named for its world-renowned fossil beds, the ridge is also a window to the seasonal movement of raptors through Colorado. The birds migrate along the Front Range of the Rockies in part because mountain updrafts enable them to soar, which conserves energy during their long journeys.
Emma Riley returns in 2025 for her fourth year counting migrating raptors on Dinosaur Ridge. She will give insight into this critical corridor, and also outline how you can volunteer for this project.
