Fwd: [cobirds] Possible Ringed Kingfisher in Gunnison County

I contacted David Inouye last night & he said he was going to talk to the property owner & then hopefully look today with permission. He does have a camera.

A biologist just wrote me about a sighting in Gunnison County. Are there records of this species north of southern TX?

"I just saw a ringed kingfisher (the larger/est kingfisher) along the river by the hummingbird nest that the crow got.  I saw these all the time in Venezuela so I am sure of my ID."
