[cobirds] Re: Birding hotspots

I've never had much luck around Heeney though it seems like it would be a great spot. At around mile marker 4 on Heeney Road, there's an eagles nest (Bald) on the right side in a cottonwood tree. They will likely be gone in August though I did hear from a friend that there were eaglets in the nest a week ago. There are also platforms with Ospreys nesting. You should also see hummingbirds and Mountain Bluebirds. Someone more experienced than me in Summit County might be familiar with good birding locales.

Hello. I will be travelling to Colorado from Chicago for the first two weeks in August. I'm looking for birding spot recommendations. I will be backpacking to Camp and Rawah lakes, which is north of RMNP. Then, I will be driving south to the town of Heeney and staying there for several nights. Any great spots near those two places or in between? Thanks!
