A friend has reported nest building activity at the 2 barn swallow nests she has on her house (they've been nesting on her house for 5+ years). Has anyone else observed barn swallows in the area yet?
She sent pictures to me - in one nest, the lining material has been partially removed, some of the old mud removed, and new fresh mud has been applied. She hasn't spied the birds yet.
No one has reported a barn swallow this far north in eBird this year. However, in the past 10 years, they've been reported in March in our area.
Just curious if others have observed.
