I saw and photographed an American dipper at Fountain Creek Nature center on Saturday, Feb 22. The bird was at the dam on Fountain creek and slightly upstream of it. I have long thought this would be a good spot for dippers but have never seen one there.
-- The usual ducks were around, the only other surprising thing was the large number of people with very big lenses on their cameras (much bigger than mine!) who had seen a Virginia rail near the bridge between the ponds.
