FW: [cobirds] Dowitcher ID assistance - Teller County

Hi All:

Resending this as I realize last weekend was a huge birding weekend in Colorado and lots of emails on CoBirds.

I would really like some feedback on this dowitcher if anyone has any. Click here for dowitcher photos.

On another note, I tied my BIG DAY record at Manitou Lake on Sunday – 56 species. The former Big Day, was on the same date (May 18th) in 2010. 42 species in common between the two years, and 14 different species.

Thanks

Lots of birds at Manitou Lake and along Trout Creek lately as with everywhere else in Colorado right now.

Had a dowitcher today that I believe to be Long-billed for 2 reasons: 1) most likely dowitcher in spring migration in CO, and 2) a couple scapulars with white fringe.

Would like to hear what others familiar with this species think. I only have one other sighting of Long-billed Dowitcher at Manitou Lake in 26 years and no Short-billed.

Thanks
