[cobirds] Long-tailed duck, Windsor Lake, Weld Cty

Around 3pm this afternoon I made it out to Windsor Lake in Weld County and found a female long-tailed duck on the eastern most patch of open water; nearly due south of the large, lone cottonwood tree if you are walking along the path on the north side of the lake. The lack of a long tail, white around the eye with a smudgy check, and no apparent bicoloration on the bill lead me to female.

There were many, many mergansers so it may provide a good chance to find a red-breasted if you bring a spotting scope looking for the LTDU.

I also saw 5 immature bald eagles, one of which landed in the cottonwood while I was standing nearly underneath it on the bridge nearby.
