COBirders-- If you haven’t checked out the sky-dancing eagles yet, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koWpTZ8Jo-s&feature=youtu.be&utm_source=Cornell+Lab+eNews&utm_campaign=3422ab52f3-Cornell_Lab_eNews_2016_03_17&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_47588b5758-3422ab52f3-278177225
It reminds me of the time, years ago, that I watched a similar pair playing with the air currents at Pueblo Reservoir. There was a good breeze from the west that, as it encountered the dam, made an updraft on which the (probably mated) pair of Goldens seemed to compete with one another while trying to see how close they could soar down to the water’s edge then ascend again. No doubt a few of you who are reading this have heard me tell this story, which is my favorite birding tale. Poor Brandon and others have heard it more than once…
