[cobirds] Common redpolls -- Tabernash (Grand County)

I thought our feeders were being assaulted this morning by a flock of pine siskins until I took a closer look and saw a red cap on one bird. Turns out we had 26 common redpolls and zero pine siskins. I didn't see any pale birds but does anyone search for hoaries any more? Now that cobirds allows pictures, I've attached the obligatory through-the-dirty-kitchen-window shot. Weird to see redpolls within walking distance of red-winged blackbirds, but 27 inches of snow in four days makes for unlikely neighbors.

First time this year we had more brown-capped rosy-finches (14) than gray-crowned (6). The seasons they are a changing.

Good birding.
