I had a little time this morning, so I stopped in at Chatfield and a couple other JeffCo spots. There were lots of ducks at Chatfield a week ago, but it was hard to find any today. So I was surprised that one of them was a female Barrow's Goldeneye, well out from shore north of the Deer Creek inlet. Three Western Grebes there were notable according to eBird filters. A Greater White-fronted Goose was feeding with Canadas at the Deer Creek Picnic Area. A Wilson's Snipe flushed up from the flooded grass there.
-- A Ruby-crowned Kinglet was in the junipers and oaks north of Deer Creek Canyon Road just east of teh south parking lot for South Valley Park, with two Canyon Wrens singing from up above on the Lyons Formation hogback.
Hine Lake in Robert A. Easton Regional Park had 15 Greater Scaup and a lesser number of Lessers.
