[cobirds] Denver Christmas Bird Count (CBC)

The Denver metro area has a number of Christmas Bird Counts (CBC).  ALL CBCs cover habitats within a 15-mile diameter Count Circle.  As the Compiler for the Denver CBC, I will plug the original Denver CBC (started in 1954 and run continuously since…except for 2020 due to COVID). 

 

The Denver CBC will be held on Saturday, December 17.  All CBCs can use LOTS of volunteers (of all abilities) to help and many people help out on more than one or two.  The Denver CBC has habitats ranging from urban, plains and foothill riparian, foothill, canyon, and reservoir.  So, much (and varied) habitats that the Count Circle is subdivided into 24 "Count Areas" (see announcement and map below) each with a leader and hopefully WONDERFUL volunteers like YOU!  Registration can be done by calling the Area Leader of the area you are interested in.  The area numbers on the map (attached) correspond to the Area Leaders on the announcement.

 

If you are not available to help on the 17th, PLEASE consider helping on one (or more!) of the many other CBCs being conducted all over Colorado.
