Re: [cobirds] Re: Brant in Arvada

Thanks for pointing them out to me -- 2 new life birds!

The brant and greater white fronted goose are currently present at the Indian tree golf course, along with hundreds of gathering white cheeked geese. Specifically, I'm watching the curious pair on the south side of the driving range in a small smattering of geese separate from the rest. Kind of funny to see both these relative rarities right next to each other.

Hello all:

I originally saw the brant in flight with a flock of Canada's, coming from the northeast, while I was driving near the intersection of Wadsworth and 78th Ave. Fortunately, I guessed right that they were headed to the golf course and even more fortunate that it was near the parking lot.  Folks looking for this bird could also check the north end of the golf course that is behind the strip mall at 78th Ave.  I just drove by and there were scads of geese.

Good branting,

I stopped at Indian Tree GC at 10:30 am, and no geese were present. They move around a lot in this area. None currently at Hidden Lake either.

Though I won't be able to drive by until tomorrow, it's great to see a post about Arvada, my part of town.  I drive by that location often and would love adding Brant to my life list.  Thanks for the post.

Hello all,

A brant and greater white-fronted goose are currently at the Indian Tree Golf Course on Wadsworth north of 72nd Ave, Arvada, Jefferson County.  They are in a flock of Canada's between the parking lot and pond to the north.
