[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- May 2, 2026-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies

A frosty morning kept birds quiet for several hours today. The birds that were around began moving around after 10:00 AM. The insects were low to the ground so the birds were feeding on the ground.

13 New Banded Birds

Myrtle (Yellow-rumped) Warbler- 2

Audubon's (Yellow-rumped Warbler- 1

Hermit Thrush -1

Swainson's Thrush- 2

Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow- 4

Mountain White-Crowned Sparrow- 1

Brown-headed Cowbird- 1

Blue Jay- 1

5 Recaptures

Common Yellowthroat

American Robin- 4

The Banding Station will be closed tomorrow and will open at Sunrise on Monday.

The ranch is open tomorrow for Birding visits and if interested please register on Aiken Audubon at www.aikenaudubon.com
