[cobirds] Colorado Christmas Bird Count Results are in now

Hi all,

Thanks to all the Colorado Christmas Bird Count compilers for getting their data into the CBC Website on time and to the participants and feeder watchers who helped out this past winter.  Colorado finished with 204 bird species and 790,435 total birds counted.  There were 53 Official National Audubon Christmas Bird Counts held in Colorado this past winter.  I think the most interesting bird seen on a Colorado CBC was the Red-breasted x Red-naped Sapsucker hybrid at Cortez.  I don't think that hybrid combo has been found on a Colorado CBC before.  Maybe some year, a "pure" Red-breasted Sapsucker will be found on a Colorado CBC, though of course there is still only one state record of that species.  I will be writing my summary of the Colorado CBC season for National Audubon in the next week or two, trying to mention interesting things that were seen during this past winter's Colorado Christmas Bird Counts.
