[cobirds] Winter Raptor Survey result

We conducted the last of 3 monthly Winter Raptor surveys of our self-created route between Bennett and Jackson Lake for HMA, the Hawk Migration Association 2 days ago, going along mainly small dirt roads, starting at dawn and ending at dusk.

We had a total of 77 raptors.

We found 3 Rough-legged Hawk, which was nice having seen only one in each of the last 2 winter seasons while doing 4 separate survey routes in each of December, January, and February.

Two were adult male and the other was adult female.

We had the most Prairie Falcon we've ever seen in a day - 7, 1 was adult, 2 juvenile

You can see the results of all our surveys, as well those of Robert Beauchamp who does a survey at the Nunn Raptor Alley, as well as surveys in many other states of the country, probably interesting for you if you're from somewhere else originally, at:

If you go to the left sidebar, you can find survey results from different states.

We have two remaining survey routes to run this month, one in North Boulder and the other west of DIA.
