COBirders,
The fifth annual Colorado Birding Challenge is this Saturday, Sept. 6! As of this morning, there are 39 teams registered for the COBC representing 21 different counties throughout the state. There are many wonderful, creative team names this year, here are three that caught my attention, here are three:
Cuckoos for Cocoa Puffs in Boulder County
Ptarmigeddon in El Paso County
100% Confirmed by Merlin in Grand County
The full list of teams can be viewed on the COBC webpage. Click the links to learn more about each team and consider making a pledge or donation to support their efforts!
Thank you to our 2025 COBC Sponsor, Front Range Birding and Optics, who will be providing prizes for the winning teams in each of the competitive categories. On that note, there are currently NO teams registered in the Under-25 category! So any students out there who want to form a team have a good chance to win this category!
Good luck to all the teams this year!
Peter Burke
