With a nicer weather window overnight, it seems that many of the birds that stopped by yesterday may have taken off. Overall, an average day for us this season with 14 netted birds, but nearly half of what we saw yesterday. We had two new species to bring our total up to 20: Lazuli Bunting and Red-shafted Northern Flicker.
12 Newly Banded Birds:
MacGillivray's Warbler: 1
Song Sparrow: 3
Wilson's Warbler: 4
Yellow Warbler: 2
Lazuli Bunting: 1
Red-shafted Flicker: 1
2 Recaptured Birds
Gray Catbird: 1
Northern House Wren: 1
The station will be closed this Sunday and Monday. We will be back Tuesday-Saturday from ~6:30a-noon.
We're located at Ridgway State Park (Dallas Creek entrance). Turn left and park at the end of the road at the confluence parking lot. We are located on the on the east side of the walking bridge. Feel free to stop by when we're around!
*** Note: State park entrance fees apply. More information about Ridgway State Park can be found here.
Have a blessed day!
