[cobirds] Broad-winged Hawk, Douglas County (Late Report)

Yesterday Paul Slingsby and I scouted a DFO trip which runs from Sedalia in Douglas County to the Cheesman Reservoir and Hayman Burn area in Jefferson County.
Our best discoveries were a juvenile Red Crossbill, so young that it had NO red or yellow coloration - - it looked more like a female House Finch, an Osprey over the South Platte near Deckers, and a beautiful Broad-winged Hawk.
We found the hawk yesterday morning along the unpaved portion of Colorado Hwy. 67 between Sprucewood and the South Platte River.  The location was along Sugar Creek about one mile uphill from the junction of Hwy. 67 and Platte River Road.

Thanks, Chris
