[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding at Chico Basin Ranch, El Paso Co.

We've banded 118 birds in 9 days of banding since opening the station on April 22.  Numbers of captures are typically low in April and this season is certainly typical thus far, with a high of 30 individuals banded on 4/26 (current season high) and low of 3 on 4/27 and 4/28.

Also typical here in spring is catching the first Swainson's Thrush on the 1st of May, and this year is no exception.  May 2nd brought the first Western Tanager, MacGillivray's Warbler, and Veery into the nets.
